BURGLARIES, SPEEDING, OTHER NEWS:

1. BURGLARIES:
 - Within recent months, there have been several burglaries in the Northville Commons Neighborhood. The Board of Directors feels it is important for all residents to be vigilant for suspicious activities in our neighborhood and to take actions to reduce the chances for burglary to your property.
 - If you notice suspicious activities, please call the Northville Township Police at 248-349-9400. Extra caution and vigilance by all residents is important.

COMMON SENSE SAFETY GUIDELINES:
- Make sure your property is properly lit with porch lights and interior lights on at night. A well-lit house may prevent your house from being a target.
- Lock your cars while in your driveway. Remove valuables from the car.
- Keep garage doors, both the main door and side entry doors, closed and locked. Keep electric garage door opener pull cords away from garage door windows.
- Please see this link for more Commonsense Safety Guidelines http://www.nationwide.com/home-burglary.jsp

NORTHVILLE TOWNSHIP VACATION NOTIFICACTION
- Use the Northville Township Police Vacation House Check Service. The Police will check your house regularly during your trip. Please see this link for access to this service: https://www.twp.northville.mi.us/your_government/departments/public_safety/police_department/community_services/house_check_request

2. SPEEDING
There have been numerous reports of speeding and running of stop signs within our neighborhood. Winchester Drive is a residential street and with all of our residential streets has a 25-mph speed limit. Please follow the speed limit on all of our streets and obey the stop signs. We have many children walking to school, residents walking pets and people riding bicycles on our streets. Please respect their safety and right to use our streets. Please inform young drivers in your family and friends that use our streets about obeying speed limits and stop signs. NORTHVILLE TOWNSHIP POLICE HAVE BEEN ASKED TO MONITOR OUR STREETS FOR SPEEDING VIOLATIONS AND FOR DRIVERS RUNNING STOPS SIGNS.

3. PLEASE remember to pick up after your animals! We have had numerous complaints to the Board about residents who are walking their dogs in the commons and not cleaning up after them “once they do their business”.
Please clean up after your pet for the benefit of all residents and their children who use the commons properties. Nobody wants to step in your dog’s waste! Also, please do not leave your dog waste in the garbage containers at the main park.
Please take your dog waste home and dispose of it properly. And remember, all dogs must be on leashes per Northville Township Ordinance #5.
Thank You!
